4/20-4/24: Students will be missing classes Monday - Wednesday for FSA testing so in class and at home we will be working on completing ch 13. On Friday, students will turn in the book pages from ch 13 with all questions and diagrams completed. I will grade them and give them back, the test for this chapter will be a take home date TBA.
4/13-4/17: Homework ch 13.1 and 13.2 vocab, and study for Wednesdays test.
3/30- 4/2 - Ch 12 vocab. In class cover 12.1 and 12.2. Healthy choices will start next week

1/26-1/30 Homework is all of the chapter 4 vocabulary.
Science fair project (Advanced)- after discussion with the class we have decided that everything from this point on can all be turned in together on the due date1/7/15. Projects can be turned in early and we still are offering afterschool help sessions on Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:00. Students should be starting to test soon so they can get everything written up prior to the deadline. Please let me know if you have any questions.
12/8-12/12: Homework is on www.discoveryeducation.com All students have their passwords written in their planners. The assignment is under the assignment tab.
12/1-12/5: Homework- ch 3.4, 3.5, 3.6 vocab.
11/10-11/14: Homework- Study fot the unit 3 (ch 9 & ch 10) post test Wednesday. We will take the essay portion Thursday, We will also have 3 essay questions from unit 1 (Unit 1 topics are proper scientific investigation procedures, density-displacement, graphing- set up, labels, and plotting), ADVANCED CLASS - Procedural plan is due Friday, I have included a link to an editable copy of it.

10/27 - 10/31: Homework for the week is Ch 10.1, 10.2, 10.3 vocab. We are covering 10.1 and 10.2 in class. Advanced- I am reviewing the rough drafts and will get them back to you ASAP.
10/20-10/24: The homework for the week is pg 339–340 # 1-15,
pg 341 #1-5. The rough draft for the
science research paper is also due on Friday for advanced students. We will take the ch 9 test Monday 10/27.
10/13-10/17: The homework for the week is all of ch 9's vocabulary. Students participating in the science fair also need to be working on the research paper rough draft (the schedule says due this Friday but we will push that back till next week)
10/6-10/9 - Unit 1 post test covering CH 1 & 2 is Tuesday 10/7. It's a short week so the homework is to study for the Test and a 1 paragraph summary of a current event in science. It is important to have this assignment in on time as this week is the end of the first marking period.
9/29-10/3- TEST FRIDAY 10/3 covering ch 1.3, 1.4, 1.5. All students saw their current grades today. The homework for the week is page 57-58 #1-18, and page 59 #1-6 Advanced also has to work on locating 5 resources for the science fair research paper, only 2 can be from websites, Today we looked at ways to find books and journals on the internet that count as non-internet resources. Be sure to write down each bibliography so you know what source you used. The best site I have found for creating a bibliography is www.knightcite.com
9/22-9/26: Homework is to complete the worksheet given out on Monday about density. Advanced class has to do the worksheet as well as Science fair (log book set-up, project selection shet http://lajhsciencefair.weebly.com/uploads/1/3/0/0/13008741/project_selection_sheet.pdf, and key words http://lajhsciencefair.weebly.com/uploads/1/3/0/0/13008741/keyword_worksheet.pdf). In class we will be working with Mass volume and density all week.
9/15-9/19: The homework for the week is to study for Wednesdays test and to write a 1 paragraph summary of a current event that relates to science. Advanced classes also have to get the science fair paperwork signed. The test is Weds 9/17 and will cover chapter 1.1, 1.2, 1.6.
9/9 update: The metric conversion worksheets will not be part of this weeks homework, they will be given out next week. Also, the ch 2 test grades are now in the grade book. Students have known their grades since the day after the test and can take a retake if they want to.
9/8-9/12: This weeks homework is ch 1.4, 1.5, &1.6 vocab as well as the metric mania conversion sheet (worksheet given in class but it can also be downloaded here).

8/25-8/29: The homework for this week is to copy the definitions for all of chapter 2's vocab. The test is Friday 8/29
8/18 - 8/22: I am still accepting work from last week so please get it turned in ASAP. this week we will finish up the unit pre tests, cover lab safety, and begin chapter 2. The homework for the week is turn in signed code of conduct form to 3rd period teacher, language of science worksheet, and to get the lab safety contract signed.
FIRST WEEK!!!! 8/12-8/15: Welcome parents and students. This week in class we will be getting to know a bit about each other and covering the classroom rules and expectations as well as the pre test for unit 1 and 2. The pre test grades will show up in the focus grade report but will NOT count towards their grades. Homework this week is to decorate the student interview sheet and get the bottom of the syllabus sheet filled out by a parent/guardian. Homework this week is due on Friday 8/15.
